About Me:
(Writer and Producer)
Michelle Adams was born in Hinesville, Georgia and is currently a resident of Roswell, Georgia.
In 1998, she became a licensed minister and the overseer of the Prayer Ministry at Anointed Word Christian Ministries, under the spiritual covering of Ocie Reese Jr., Senior Pastor. This is where Michelle discovered her passion for writing and producing plays. In April 2003 she was ordained as an Elder at Anointed Word Christian Ministries and started their first Drama Ministry, the Anointed Word Players and the Anointed Performer’s for Christ, the teen drama team.

Michelle graduated from Georgia State University in the spring of 2004 with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She also started her production company, Beauty for Ashes Enterprises, LLC, that same year. She will be attending Candler School of Theology at Emory University in the spring.

Michelle has written several short plays: War in the Heavenlies, The Answer, Alabaster box, The Housewife and The Provider, Could You Not Watch With Me One Hour, Choices, Dream!! and “Whatever Happened to the Den?”, which is a culmination of three of her shorter works. This production actually weighs true to life situations and challenges causing one to think of consequences for one’s actions, therefore leaving the audience with a feeling of completeness instead of just another laugh at a funny satire. Michelle wrote Whatever Happened to the Den? to express her concerns about the African American church and all of it’s time honored traditions. She addresses social issues such as; racism, adultery, drugs, social and physical abuse. She presents these issues in a manner that allows us to laugh at ourselves but at the same time think about why we are who we are and why we do what we do. Her second production; “The Warrior Within”, deals with the challenges of life on the streets and how the triumphant spirit of each character shines through in the end. Detention? is Michelle’s third play that she has produced, written and directed. This production is based on the 1985 movie, The Breakfast Club. This is an urban version of the popular 80’s film. There are 10 teens that come together and discover that their current place in life will not dictate who they will become. Their destinies have been set and detention will not hold them back.

Michelle is currently working on her first feature film, “Catch” a comedy about online dating!

Michelle desires to reach as many people as possible by producing and helping others produce, quality productions for everyone…….not just to enjoy….but experience. Her motto for Beauty for Ashes Enterprises: Creating Productions that Touch the Soul!
