Abstract:
My talk is called Alliance Networking and is about the benefits of close partnering in a job search, a habit almost never practiced but which has great potential to increase search effectiveness. It’s based on my own experiences and the odds of clearing various hurdles in a search. It’s sure to be interesting and to some, controversial. To others, it will make the difference between a job and no job in a short time.
Bio: Bill Bentley
I’m an engineer who has mostly done process improvement work. I have had to involuntarily look for work three times in my career over the age of 40 and changed careers each time so I know what job seekers are going through. I’m a volunteer career guide at RUMC and led the Kettering job search group in Atlanta for a year before deciding to start my own business. I am the owner, president and janitor of Value-Train and primarily do process improvement training and consulting. I have wondered how to use my analytical problem solving skills to the job search problem for several years and finally got an inspiration over the Christmas holidays and want to share that idea.
